Reynolds Forty Six - Eighty One Tubular Wheelset
The Forty Six - Eighty One wheelset combination from Reynolds is a sure fine way to faster bike splits. Combining great manouverabilty and stability with the Forty Six front wheel with the deep aerodynamic effects of the Eighty One on the rear, this wheelset provides a stunning balance of speed and practicality. Many studies are now suggesting that having too deeper front wheel in heavy, gusting crosswinds can actually be detrimental to performance due to the extra effort required in controlling the bike. By dropping the depth slightly, aerodynamics remain fantastic but controllabilty improves dramatically. The rider can get away with a strong deep wheel still on the rear as it doesn't inhibit the controlling aspects of the bike anywhere near as much.
